This standard applies to machinery and electrical/electronic equipment manufactured after the publication date of this standard. Except for parts that are not directly involved in controlling and modifying the functions of the machine, components or subassemblies intended to be installed on machines are also within the scope of this standard, with the exception of exemptions. This international standard does not apply to machines directly powered by low-voltage currents from the general electrical grid. In recent years, a greater number of electronic devices designed to control, monitor, and display numerous functions in agricultural machinery and tractors have been used. The electrical and electromagnetic environment in which these devices operate must be considered.
